Catholic Schools COVID-19 Dashboard
The Diocese of San Diego has created a Catholic Schools COVID-19 Dashboard in order to provide our members a collective snapshot of the number of students and staff out of school due to positive COVID-19 cases at a specific point in time. The dashboard reflects a moving two-week window updated on Sundays. The cases are reported by regional deanery to maintain a focus on our system. The data displayed is self-reported from our Diocesan preschool, elementary, and high schools. Each school will also maintain communication with their communities around all health factors.
Our primary goal is to keep all faculty, staff, and students healthy and whole in body, mind, and spirit. Each one of us must remain mindful in wearing facial coverings in school and following all requirements of return-to-school plans, including staying home if you are sick, washing your hands regularly and maintaining proper social distancing.
In the event of a confirmed positive case at a Catholic school, leaders will contact affected individuals directly to notify and recommend important next steps. Our Catholic Schools will cooperate with the local public health department, inform the school community of the presence of a confirmed positive case, and proactively contact the families of students considered to be in close contact. Those considered to be close contacts of a confirmed positive case will be given directions for self-isolation.
We remain committed to working with state and local health officials to ensure we can safely continue with in-person instruction.
