Mater Dei Catholic High School (MDCHS) is located in Chula Vista, California, in a beautiful newly-developed area in San Diego County.  We are a private, coeducational institution that is under the guidance of the San Diego Diocese.  The school is fully accredited by both the Western Association of Schools and Colleges (WASC) and the National Catholic Education Association (NCEA).  We have a firm commitment to guiding each of our students to gain acceptance to a four-year university after graduation.  We continually strive to make our campus a place for the community, with many sports, arts and cultural events that are open to the public.

Today our Faculty and Staff had the opportunity to come together in a team bonding experience while having fun, being creative and learning more about one another.

As our Principal, Mr. Stingo, put it "the activity reinforced how lucky we are to work with such awesome people". #americasfinest

Students from Mater Dei served at St. Paul’s Senior Center for the Jr. Service Retreat. They helped the residents exercise, played games, and learn Spanish. It was a wonderful experience for all involved. #spiritofservice ... See MoreSee Less

GREAT Job Mater Dei!

Last Friday, 125 Mater Dei students participated in a learning forum on human trafficking. Daniel Ukang from the Lost Boys of Sudan told the story of his escape from Sudan and being made a child soldier at the age of 7.

Also, Sister Judy from Mary's Guest House and Jenna Christalkis from Children of the Immaculate Heart spoke of their work with women in rehabilitation as they free themselves from the trafficking industry.

Finally, Dr. Lianna Urada, Assistant Professor in the SDSU School of Social Work gave students information and statistics about trafficking in the U.S. and internationally.

The students made gift baskets filled with prayers for the women in rehabilitation, brainstormed what they can do to help, and participated in a closing prayer service with students and speakers praying together. Thank you all who participated in this event!

Daniel Ukang is a great speaker. I got to have him come to my class when Quentin F. was in 8th. grade.

Great job Mater Dei. Keep it up!
