Dr. Anita Casvantes Bradford Lectures at OLP On Catholic Leaders

On Friday, January 19, Dr. Anita Casavantes Bradford, Associate Professor of Chicano/Latino Studies in the School of Social Sciences at the University of California, Irvine, delivered an inspiring lecture to approximately 130 students at Academy of Our Lady of Peace.

In her lecture, she recounted turning points in the history of immigration in the United States and described the work of Catholic leaders, like the late Monsignor Bryan Walsh, who stood up for immigrants and defended the dignity of all human life. Her comprehensive presentation sparked thoughtful suggestions for how America’s immigration policies could be in accordance with the Catholic Church’s social teachings.
