School of the Madeleine Sending Warmth to Those in Need

School of the Madeleine collected and donated over 200 blankets this winter for three different causes. The Student Council chose this service project in order to support those in the San Diego community who needed new blankets for the cold weather. Some of the blankets went to the Trinitarians of Mary to be distributed to the people of Tijuana. A group of St. Augustine students distributed some to the homeless in downtown San Diego. Finally, Father Joe’s Villages gladly accepted a large portion of the blankets. It was a joy to work with Sr. Mary Kiely, from Father Joe’s Villages, who took two trips to gather and deliver the blankets to Father Joe’s Villages herself. We are proud of the generosity of our families and students as they practice the Works of Mercy.
