SWAT Team and County Sheriff land with K-9 Unit at Santa Sophia Academy

Before most adults made their way into the office this morning, the San Diego County Sheriff’s Department was descending onto Santa Sophia Academy near Mount Helix!

It wasn’t your typical student assembly. Santa Sophia Academy alums Sheena and Kirstie Cross are both officers, and helped to arrange the very exciting visit that included SWAT vehicles, gear, and displays. Students were on the edge of their seats and really “gripped” to the K-9 demonstration. Officers answered a variety of great questions ranging from training to stun guns.

The academy would like to thank the San Diego County Sheriff’s Department for creating such a wonderful experience for hundreds of students, staff and parents!
