Stella Maris Academy Staff ‘Stay in Touch’ during Distance Learning

In anticipation of the Easter holiday break, Stella Maris Academy created this electronic greeting card for both the students and parents, to let them know how proud they are of how well the students have adjusted to remote learning and, also, of how hard the students have worked.

It’s been a busy month of remote learning at Stella Maris Academy. Weeks before the temporary school closure due to COVID-19, teachers and staff had been preparing for distance learning, which resulted in only two days of downtime. With direction from principal Mrs. Francie Moss, teachers were planning for remote lessons and the development of their online communications with students via Seesaw, Zoom, Flip Grid, email, Google Classroom comments, and Remind – just to name a few platforms. Mrs. Moss said, “the teachers have been awesome and have been working very long days and they are exhausted: they have gone above and beyond, Zooming, emailing, grading, and providing feedback to families”.

Everyone misses seeing the students on campus, and the students’ miss seeing their friends and participating in all the school events. Stella Maris Academy is looking forward to when staff and students can all safely return to the campus.
