For a science, social studies, & art cross-curricular connection, Third Grade class at St. Martin of Tours Academy learned about the Chinese New Year that starts Feb. 12th while creating wonderful Dragons & Chinese Lanterns out of paper. Throughout the ages, the Chinese have used lanterns not only as sources of light or simple paper decoration, but they symbolize vitality, social status and good luck. Happy Year of the Ox!
